Arriving by bus There is a shuttle service that operates from Christchurch to Methven, and can also provide transport to Mt. Hutt. You can book it online at snowmanshuttles.co.nz
Arriving by car From Christchurch Airport, go West on Durey Road and take 3rd exit on the roundabout onto Memorial Ave. Follow SH1 to Rakaia (about 40min.). Take a right after the big salmon statue onto Elizabeth Ave. Straight over both roundabouts and continue on Rakaia Barrhill Methven Road for 33.6km. Take a right on Back Track and follow the slight left onto Barkers Road for 2.7km. Turn right onto Hall St. Turn left on the main road (Highway SH77) at the Mobil petrol station. Follow until you see 'The Last Post' pub on the left and turn right opposite it onto Bank Street. The Lodge is located at the end of the road on the left. A car park is available at the back.
